Persevering in Real Estate: Against All Odds
When the market goes against you, what do you do? You keep grinding.
There are very few fields as challenging, competitive, and rewarding as real estate. The market is a tumultuous beast, with highs that make you feel like you’re on top of the world, and lows that make you question your choices. The world saw one of these drastic lows during the great recession, and countless individuals found their careers and dreams upturned. Among them was our very own Broker, Christopher Brown.
Christopher’s journey during those tumultuous times is not just a story of survival, but one of resilience, determination, and unwavering faith in one’s passion.
A Dream Shattered, A New Vision Born
In the mid-2000s, Christopher was climbing the corporate home building ladder, working for several large home builders in the Sacramento region. Like many, he had dreams, aspirations, and plans for the future. But as the recession hit, he, along with millions of others, was laid off. It was a dark time; the landscape of job opportunities was bleak, savings were dwindling, and the morale was at an all-time low.
While many would’ve seen the layoff as a sign to shift careers or adopt a more ‘stable’ path, Christopher saw an opportunity. The real estate market was in shambles, properties were at an all-time low, and people were looking to sell. Instead of running away from the storm, he decided to head straight into it.
The Birth of Next Real Estate Group
With limited resources but limitless determination, Christopher founded Next Real Estate Group, Inc with his partner Scott Bolli. The name wasn’t just a brand; it was a reflection of his journey and the ethos he wanted to instill in his venture.
Starting a real estate company during the worst market downturn was not for the faint-hearted. Deals were hard to come by, clients were skeptical, and every day was a challenge. But Christopher believed that if he could make it through these times, he could thrive in any market.
Building Trust in Troubled Times
The foundation of Next Real Estate Group was built on trust and relationships. In an era where many realtors were viewed with suspicion, Christopher went the extra mile. He held seminars for first-time buyers, offered free consultations, and provided genuine advice even if it meant losing a potential deal. His aim was not just to sell properties but to build lifelong relationships.
The Turnaround
Years went by, the market started recovering, and Next Real Estate grew. What started as a two-man venture turned into a firm with multiple agents, several subdivisions, and home building division, and a reputation for innovation. Today, the company stands as a testament to the power of perseverance.
Lessons from Christopher’s Journey
Christopher’s story teaches us that even in the face of adversity, one can find opportunity. By being genuine, patient, and committed to his vision, he turned a setback into a success story.
To anyone struggling in the real estate industry or any profession for that matter, remember Christopher’s words, “When the market goes against you, you keep grinding. The storm will pass, and when it does, you’ll be stronger for having weathered it.”
In the world of real estate, where the only constant is change, perseverance isn’t just a virtue; it’s a necessity.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
